Norway Consumer Price Inflation Stays At 1.9%

Norway's consumer price index, or CPI, rose 1.9% year-on-year in August, same as in the previous month, a report by the Statistics Norway showed on Friday. Economists were looking for an increase of 2%.

On a monthly basis ,the CPI slipped 0.2% in August. This decline was mainly due to fall in prices of airline fares and clothing. Economists had expected only 0.2% drop for August.

Meanwhile, the annual growth in the CPI-ATE was 1.4% in August and was down 0.2% compared to the preceding month.
